Paul Quinnett, PhD.
Paul Quinnett is a clinical psychologist and the President and CEO of the QPR Institute, an educational organization dedicated to preventing suicide. In addition to a private consulting practice to law enforcement agencies for 25 years, he served as the Director of Adult and Elderly Services at Spokane Mental Health for three decades. Author of seven books and an award-winning journalist, he is also Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Washington. He and his faculty have researched, tested and published a series of award-winning professional training programs in the detection, assessment, and management of suicidal persons at all levels of care across the age span. These community and institutional programs are delivered both in classroom settings and via distance learning methodologies, and are being adopted internationally.



John M. Violanti, Ph.D.
Dr. Violanti is an Associate Professor at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Rochester, New York. He instructs within the Criminal Justice program at RIT. He is also an Associate Clinical Professor at the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Medicine, Department of Social and Preventative Medicine. Professor Violanti is a retired 23 year veteran of the New York State Police, serving both as a trooper and within the Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Dr. Violanti has written / edited several books and journal articles on such topics as law enforcement psychological trauma, police suicide, and general law enforcement psychological stress. Dr. Violanti has been a requested speaker and has presented at the national and international level on the topics of law enforcement stress and police suicide. Dr. Violanti continues to be a leader in clinical research and studies involving both the physical and psychological health of law enforcement personnel. Dr. Violanti has been an invited guest lecturer at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
